I just recieved this product, but honestly, I can tell it’s a very excellent kit already. It wasn’t what I was expecting but it serves it’s purpose. I was contemplating buying the Austin Bazaar 38″ Black Cutaway Guitar with Transportation Bag and Accessories for only $40 but after reading the negative reviews, I chose against it. Plus, it’s obvious they just want to get rid of them and make quick cash as a replacement for of really selling a quality product. I mean, I’d rather pay a small more (I paid $94 on Amazon) for a QUALITY guitar than 40 dollars for something that will fall apart in a few weeks. The guitar itself is VERY nice – very excellent quality, wonderful wood and qualified looking. It’s obvious Kona knows guitars. The only downside is that it doesn’t come with extra strings, a stand or a strap, but really that’s not vacant to cost more than $20 to buy. Plus, the book is fantastic – amusing, simple and the pictures are very helpful, and the CD helps too. So take your pick – if your really serious about playing, than pay a small more for a quality product.

I bought my Kona guitar two weeks ago, after researching the company on the web.
It’s just the right size for me, and stays in tune pretty well – very small adjustment on the keys.
I like the digital tuner that’s built-in in the kit. It’s much simpler than using a pitch pipe.
I would suggest getting a hard case, though. The gig bag isn’t padded.

I’ve been a fan of the Dummies book series but was a small hessitant about this product. After careful review, and the price was nice, I made the buy. Having never played the guitar before, with the help of the built-in book and cd, I am now in the process of teaching myself and it is vacant fantastic thus far. I feel that the quality of the guitar is superb, I’ve even compared it to Fender. You get more for your money with this pack, and it’s perfect for anyone including the qualified player.

Bought this set for my hubby as a birthday present. Arrived exactly on time and in incredible condition. Gig bag is kind of flimsy but since he won’t be traveling with it anytime soon it gets the job done. The book and accessories are awesome and really breaks everything down to help learning! Like it!

Traditionally a 5th anniversay gift is wood so I chose to get my husband a guitar starter kit nothing too fancy and I’m glad I chose Guitar for Dummies. It was a hit! The product was delivered in one piece, on time, and without any issues. This is a fantastic starter guitar for my husband and he plays it everyday. Looks like my gift won this year =).

I know, buying a guitar on line and from Dummies? The quality of the guitar is very nice. I was surprised. This was bought for my 13 yr. ancient daughter’s Christmas gift 2008. Since she has learned many songs and the sound and quality of the guitar are pretty darn excellent for the price. It is a excellent starter piece, without spending and arm and a leg for equipment and lessons. One thing I would do, it get a better case. You can always upgrade. I say try it!

I am the target audience for this set: I don’t know anything about playing the guitar, but want to gather. I’ve had this for a few days and am entirely pleased with it. The guitar – well, I have nothing to compare it with, but it’s physically striking, feels excellent in my hands, and makes a lovely sound when I twang a thread. I don’t know enough about guitars to be a honest judge, but there’s nothing obvious about it to make it inferior to the guitars of my friends who play, and in fact I like it better than some I’ve seen. The book and CD are simple enough for me to follow, and the digital tuner is simple to use. I’ve fruitfully tuned the guitar and learned how to play an E chord, so I’m feeling satisfied and accomplished. Everything arrived in brilliant condition and ready to use, and I didn’t have to go buy anything else in order to get started.

I’ve had this guitar for about a month. It’s a nice looking instrument and sounds very excellent. I could not tune the guitar with the provided electronic tuner so I bought a Korg GA-30 tuner and tuning was then simple. I recommend you buy an electronic tuner with a meter as it makes tuning much simpler. I had never played any type of musical instrument before but the book provided with this instrument is clear and concise. Overall I’m very pleased with everything except the tuner.

I’ve had this guitar for about a year now. For what small I paid for it, it’s a fantastic buy! Within a week, I learned how to tune the strings and a few vital cords. That alone was worth the money. It is a pretty guitar with a nice sound. Be forewarned though that the “metal” pieces are really plastic. I didn’t even notice it at first so it’s not a distraction at all. I reckon this is what keeps the price down. The main part of the guitar is some kind of pressed wood. But, it certainly serves its purpose. Also keep in mind, this kit will only work if you practice. I’m at the point now of graduating into a nicer quality guitar. But, if I was able to take actual guitar lessons, I’m sure my skills would be further along the road. Overall, this is a fantastic beginner’s guitar. Even if you only play for a few weeks and place it down, it’s still worth the money.

I ordered this pack for my daughter this last Christmas. She likes it! It was an brilliant buy. It came with everything listed and seems to be of excellent quality. The guitar seems to be of a sturdy design and construction and has wonderful sound (To us anyway). Even I am making an attempt to gather to play it. The book “Guitar for Dummies” is very informative and simple enough to follow. We are having fantastic fun. Thanks, Amazon.
